More artwork! However, this one needs some explanation. It was my drawing II class final project and we had to create the scene from a dream that we've had. It couldn't be looking into the future, it had to be one from our sleep. I always have dreams of having miscarriages or still borns so that was what I decided to draw. The skull in the stomach represents the inability to concieve. I decided to put the baby in the bottle & floating away at sea, showing that it is out of reach from the mother. It is done on plywood, the background is the obituary section from the newspaper and is faded out using paint and gesso. The skull, woman, and baby in the bottle were all drawn using graphite and the water is an ink wash. All together this took me about 20 hours or so to do. If you know me at all you'd know that this is very deep and dark for my style of art. However, I'm so happy with how it turned out...
